Pinterest Popularity is Surging Compared to Facebook and Twitter
Pinterest is growing more popular, and it’s an issue that Facebook, Twitter and other sites that vie not only for user-generated content, but the user’s TIME that should be most worrisome. Content needs to be kept fresh, current and user information up to date, and to do that, users must commit their time to the site. The numbers are showing that more time is being spent on Pinterest and less on Facebook, even thought Facebook’s numbers of course dwarf Pinterest’s and Twitter’s. And everyone elses, for now.
Pinterest is very young, relatively to even the tech world and literally in the actual world, and while the current content on Pinterest is growing exponentially, people are spending more time on the site. Time, being a finite resource that companies compete for, is shifting away from dear OLD Facebook and being spent gathering junk on Pinterest.
